I take this opportunity to wish you and all your family members a very happy Diwali and a very prosperous new year. We will be performing, in our office, Lakshmi Puja tomorrow in the evening at 1800hrs to invoke the blessings of the wealth Goddess. This Puja is performed on behalf of all you guys and am sure and confident that the coming days would bring in lots of happiness and prosperity for all of us. I want to share with you, something which I read recently on Diwali and Goddess Lakshmi.
It goes like this:
" During Diwali, we worship Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, but although we use the word 'Lakshmi' almost as a synonym for money, they are not the same. Lakshmi is wealth accumulated through honest and fair means. Money can be stolen as well, but Lakshmi brings peace and happiness to the person who earns it. Stolen money only brings emptiness to the soul. If you notice Lakshmi's idol, she has gold coins around her, signifying wealth. However, she is also seated on a lotus flower, and holds lotuses in her hands. The lotus is a symbol of purity and peace, signifying spiritual well being; a symbol of purity and beauty even in the muddy waters of the world. Without this peace, wealth has no meaning."
So when you pray tomorrow evening ask not for money but for Lakshmi-wealth attained through pure means that keeps the mind as peaceful and beautiful as the lotus. Lakshmi only come to those who are pure at heart.

Happy Diwali!!!
